Carrollton, GA
It's been raining hard for three days. My run is a swamp, my goat pens are swamps. The does' building flooded. My mini-coop wasn't built for this kind of deluge either. Everyone is wet and miserable. It wasn't raining too hard this morning, so I let the chickens out for a little exercise. Now it's pouring and I can't get them in the coops. As if all that wasn't irritating enough, my garden is near ruin. We've been in a drought, so I've been a little stingy with the water. All of this rain packed into such a short time has made all of the tomatoes crack. Also, I can't get out there long enough to collect all of the squashes and cukes, which are rapidly growing to the inedible stage. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we're getting some water, but couldn't it be spread out a little better?

Sorry you've gotten too much, too fast.

TS Julio blessed us with some much needed moisture yesterday. I was nice going to sleep last night, listening to the pitter-patter of falling rain.

sorry for the mess your in we had it the end of last week was like a lake around here been sunny and drying up pretty nice now just hold in there all will pass soon:D

Ahh yes rain, being British we dont know much else, but understand your concerns the rains we have had this "summer" did I say summer...haha...has been pretty much the same....rain rain rain........thankfully it has not rained for a couple of days here on the Cheshire Plains...thank you Lord.

Hope it dries up soon for you though...sympathies to the animals, my girls get pretty miserable when it rains and run as fast as they can back to the shed! no staying out getting wet for them no sir.....chicken cowards, just like me fairweather chicken keeper...LOL

Same up here, too, kinnip. Carrollton always seemed to get the brunt of every storm. Heck, the first week I was at college in West Ga, we had tornado warnings and had to sit in the hallways. Up here in Fannin, we just get power outages. The wind picks up a tiny bit or it rains too hard and the power goes out. It did this morning. Thank goodness I dont have bators going or babies that need a heat lamp!

If only I could Luna if only I could, would love a week of sunshine, just a week is that asking too much, my tomato and veggies plants wont ripen, tomatoes still green!!! arghhhh and the Autumn is fast approaching...hey ho, blowing a flipping gale here at the moment and theres raindrops on the windows!

Lunachick, you can have ALL of my rain-- pick-up only.

Speckledhen, hope they keep the lights on! I'm always surprised by how few outages we have here. Those GA Power guys must be working hard.

English Chick, I lived in London for awhile. The winter wasn't too wet, but April was a shocker. I felt like I needed wellies every time I went to the shop. I drank a lot of milk-free tea that month.

Did you say rain! Blow some our way. It was soooo muggy here for days! NO RAIN. Couldnt tell ya when the last time it rained here.
