Just want to say thank you.
We had eggs hatch and some that were still unhatched. Well it had be about 25 days and the others were not hatching so we were going to trash them. But we had to go out of town for the day and did not get around to doing it. Anyway we had a chick hatching when we went to get rid of the eggs!!!!!!
That poor chick tried and tried to get out of the egg. All day it worked on it. But it was stuck. I was not sure what to do. Should I help it or wait longer? That is when I came here and read about a dry hatch. Sure enough that chick was really dried out. I did what I read here to do and it is ok. Smells a little funny and is kind of dry but it seems ok.
Thank you backyardchickens my little girl would have been so upset if that chick had die while trying to hatch.
Also read about how to tell if the egg is good. Going to do that before I trash them.
God Bless
