This was funny

I have a temperature gage that has a red laser light on it and when I was checking the temp in my brooder with it, the chic's tried to peck it and chase it around. my dog chases laser pointers but I didn't know chicken's would. I just thought that it was funny.

My dad was telling me the other day that I should buy one. He said it is so funny to watch them. Maybe my husbadn will get one for Easter.

I guess it depends on the chick! I have two brooders who will chase it and fight to "eat" it, whereas the other brooders and especially the ducklings are terrified of it. I do use mine to herd the ducks into their pen at night though. Much easier than trying to herd them in flapping your arms, running and yelling!
