We have 10 chickens who are due to start laying around August. 4 New Hampshire reds, 2 RIR, 2 barred rock, 2 red sex link. We also have 3 pullets around 2 months old, one buff Orpington and two EE. Well the younger three are always getting picked on and chased around by the older ones. We keep the little ones in a chicken tractor while the big ones in the coop. We also keep them separate unless they are free ranging. Every night the chickens would go to the coop and the chicks to their tractor but for some reason tonight they snuck in the coop after the older ones went up to roost and they huddled in a corner and started to go to sleep. We came out there to shut up the coops and couldn't find the little ones so I thought they fell asleep in the garden but they weren't there either. So when we went to the older girls coop they were huddled in a corner under the nesting boxes! I decided to pick the three up and put them on the roost together, the bigger girls looked at them like they were intruding but didn't do anything to them, the only thing I am worried about is if they will get picked on in the morning before my husband gets out there to let them out at 6:30am. Does anyone think they will be fine or not?

I know I'm just worried about in the morning when they hop off the roost, I don't want to see feathers flying out the window!

Well they must not have been picked on too much last night, they are in there again right now!
