Hi and welcome to BYC , are you going to get any other birds or animals. Your dogs are beautiful

Living on our daughters property and she has 7 egg layers and is raising 10 silkies from chick stage. The egg layers roam the property and since I am an early riser they come to greet me and of course I throw out some feed for them. I do not think we will raise any other animals but time will tell. Will be setting up allot of raised bed vegetable gardens and am thinking of having a small assortment of dwarf fruit trees. We may buy a pig for slaughter at the 4-H fair for starters. I would like to raise a pig or two but I think we will have our hands full for the time being. Willow and Hunter said thanks. They are very interested in Sofies chickens but as long as Inger (my wife) or I are out with the dogs we make sure they don't pester the hens.

I got my pullets from a guy named Jason in Strasburg with an organic chicken farm. I'm not sure if you've had chickens in the past, but he is a wealth of information. I will try and find his contact for you. I'm sure he wouldn't mind a visit if you want to check out his place and setup. He mixes and sells awesome feed as well.
