Thistles as Greens?

Wondering if it is ok to feed a few thistle greens to our chickens, it is pretty dry around here and the thistles are some of the few greens around. Our chickens have a very large run, and aren't free range due to a nesting pair of Redtailed Hawks close by.

If the type of thistle is not on the list , it should be fine, of course they may not eat them anyway.

Thanks for the link of the toxic plants - sounds like they might be good to avoid overall, and I'll scout around in some wetter areas for other healthy weeds!
