*sigh*
These chicks (3 months old-pullets now?) are giving my big girls a run for their money. I let the chicks play in their run when I'm home only. For the last two evenings, they are getting out of their run and free-ranging with the big girls.
Last night, they tried to get into the big girl coop instead of theirs. Oh, wow! You would've thought someone was dying, they raised such a ruckus!
Tonight, when they saw they couldn't get into the big girl coop, they hunkered down under a tree near the big girl coop. I had to pick up each one and put them in their coop. I took advantage for chicken snuggles, but it still cracked me up.
Watching everyone, I see the chicks get as close to the hens as they can before getting run off. The hens are being polite overall, even if they need to learn how to share.
