What kind do you have and through who? We found out Qwest may not cover here, we may be stuck with dial-up or with wild Blue, which I here is often worse then dialup. My bf is big into online gaming so getting something a bit faster then dialup is preferred.

We've heard a few different things from qwest, from only dialup to we can get service it just needs to be activated here.

I just recently moved from the far boonies to the kind of in town boonies, and we were lucky enough to have DSL through Verizon. One block over and we would have been stuck with dial up.

Directv does bundle with wild blue, and the satellite and modem from them is here still from the previous owner, but from many of the reviews its expensive and not much better then dial up.

We have Mobile Broadband through our cell phone (Verizon Wireless), using an aircard (USB Modem). We have a WiFi card to use if we take our Laptop into town.

We're on dial up with Primus. Satellite isnt actually great in our area, and way too expensive. We are getting a tower put up on a mountain near us and set up for the internet is like 400 bucks then 60 some bucks a month. But we just cant put up with dial up anymore!

We aren't so far out in the boonies here but we were at our last house (different state) and we had Clear. Technically we were outside their service area but they let me take a modem home to see if it would pick up any bars or not and it did. It was $35/month plus taxes, came to about $44/month. Our only other option was satellite at over $100/month because they knew they had you and could rip you off.
