Those who dry hatch, curious q! ESP if your in humid...

Ok I've not incubated at all. But one thing I know about ac it can dry out the air more depending on your set up. Also the main thing you need is a steady temp. I hear of people hatching in dens. They offer a lower rate of air movement so more steady temp/humidity.

I have dry hatched in my living room, during the winter and during the spring with a wood stove in the house in a dry climate. I also hatched with humidity, not as successfully though.

I left on vaca last 5 days of the hatch, but put out food and water in the hatcher. I didn't help them hatch or teach them to eat or drink but they had figured it out by the time I got back. It was pretty cool, but I did worry while I was gone.

I have 10 under a broody (5 lemon cuckoo Orps and 5 lav Orps) and then 3 under another (its her kinda first time....long story haha but 3 is all she took so I will incubate the remaining 6 and PRAY PRAY PRAY :D:p I'll just be tickled if a few hatch since their all shipped eggs!!!! AH!

I hatch out in my kitchen but incubate in a separate incubator in the living room. We dry incubate and if we have to use AC it's set for 72 so it's right around what the temp normally is without it. We only turn it on when it gets really hot like over 90 in the house. So far we have had great hatches with no issues.
