thought i was hatching chicken eggs!

Thought I was hatching chicken eggs so when they pipped on day twenty two I thought all was normal. Almost 24 hours later and no movement so I lifted the flap of shell over the pip and there's a duck bill! I wrapped in paper towel and put it back for now. Freaking out!!! What should I do!!

Let the baby dry completely before you put him/her in the brooder

I thought ducks hatched at 28 days. Maybe this one is impatient.

If its already threw the egg theres nothing you can really do but dry it off make sure its alright, and put it in a brooder. Make sure it gets good water and what not. It's like mother earth, women have early births, Dogs sometimes have their pups a few days early or a few days late. Theres nothing you can really do. But be happy!
