Thought this was kale....

Anyone know if this is kale? None of the pictures I am finding look the same. A former teacher at my children's school gave me the seeds started and said they were kale.

I only know what curly kale looks like. Yours almost looks like cabbage although I would break off s little peice and taste

I'm guessing broccoli or cauliflower. Possibly even brussel sprouts. They look a lot alike until they bloom.

A Google search turned up lots of different varieties of Kale. Most were the curly leaf type but some looked exactly like the OP's pics.

Looks more like collards but brassicas can look pretty similar to one another.

Could be cabbage, kale or collards. It will all taste similar if cooked.
