Help! Pavo my thought-to-be Americana is not a Americana !?! I am soooo confused 😵 . I got Pavo as an Americana from a small business version of tractor supply. All my other birds look like the correct breed .
INFO
•she lays green eggs
•she is definitely not meat or duel purpose, she is light and well muscled (have not weighed her but around 5 pounds sounds right)
•she is not especially friendly and hates being picked up (but will take treats from hand)
•has a BASICALLY NO HANGING wattle
•she does well in the winter even with her thinner feathers
•very prim no puff (even her but fluff is a near perfect circle)
•her feathers are patterned like a GLW except with more lacing
•I can get a better pick in the morning

She is an ā€œAmericana.ā€ Which is another name for Easter Egger. A mixed breed.

She is NOT an ā€œAmeraucanaā€ a real breed.

I can’t the place is a not actually TSC and they changed the order sheets . I am 90% sure they got the birds from cackle hatchery tho

Ooooooooooh thanx :D I thought Americana was just a misspelling for ameraucana (something I would do )LoL
It is, but many hatcheries, feed stores, and even many breeders spell it that way to make you think you are getting a purebred when really you aren’t.

Cackle has pure Ameraucanas, but your girl isn’t. Cackle also has EEs, They could have bough EEs then labeled them as Americana’s.
