Maybe use sterile saline to rinse her eye. I think witch hazel is an astringent, might be irritating it further. Try to find an aviary vet if you can, people in your town must own birds of some type. The drops that you have from your pink eye might work since pink eye is from bacteria.well, wish I can find a “Dr. Pol” near me. Folks around here don’t seem to keep hens as pets and don’t bring to the vet and vets around here don’t take hens. I am not sure what to do and was hoping to get some input. I have been cleaning Louise’s eye out with witch hazel with no positive results. Can some one help me? It’s swollen and does get watery. She get crud in it all the time so I clean it. She tries to see out if it esp after it’s been cleaned out. Please help. Thanks y’all!
