By the way AmericanMom. I love Jersey Giants. I've had Black, White and Blue but none ever went broody.
We purchased 5 or 6 last spring and I love them, I didn't tag the one that hatched out eggs late last summer, I think it is her again but cant say for sure, so I have at least one, possibly two that have went broody before a year old

Got the addition done...or atleast done for today, got a few tweaks to make, We completely enclosed the new addition so it needs a window or at least a hole cut into the ply board wall and covered with screen...It is for the pullets for now so it can wait until next weekend. Moved them all out tonight.. Next is taking another wall inside down (one we used for chicks in the grow out pen) and redo the nesting boxes, we made them a bit small so they need to be enlarged and I want them repositioned, the way they are now I have a narrow area to bend and gather eggs, although my roosters are good, I don't want to be in a position where I cannot maneuver. the roof we put on is 10x10 so I had assumed that was going to be the space but Dh being much wiser than me wanted a bit of an overhang for our nice Oregon rain.. It ended up being 8x10 which is still fine.. We added 22 pullets and cockerels but the cockerels (5) are going to freezer camp within a few weeks.
