I am new to turkeys, so please don't pounce on me for bringing this up. Today I came across an article on how to raise turkeys. It recommended de-beaking, de-snooding and cutting the back toe of turkey poults to be less likely to fight each other (but if they do, less likely to injure each other). Is this accurate? Inhumane? Helpful in preventing injuries?

I wouldn't ever do that! That is something they do at commercial production farms with 1000's of birds. Shouldn't be too much trouble with fighting in a back yard flock. The free range boys will spar a bit in the breeding season but usually not too harmful. We eat all the really aggressive Toms.
