Thoughts on feeding chicks scrambled eggs

I buy day old chicks and I don't give eggs or treats of any kind till 10 weeks old.
I mix Chick Grit in their Medicated Start & Grow feed at 2 weeks, till 10 weeks at a ratio of 1 lb to 40 lbs of feed. 10 ounces to 25 lbs of feed.
I mix 5 lbs at a time in a zip lock bag, 2 ounces of Grit.
I offer Poultry Grit separately at 7 weeks. GC

I feel like this is a dumb question but when you give them treats, like eggs etc., do you just add it to their feeder tray or do you put it in a separate bowl?

That's up to you. I feed many of the treats by hand, so no bowl needed. Or i put them right on the ground. I wouldn't put them with chick regular food if they are wet because i want the regular food to be usable later.

I use a specific bowl so that they know it contains a treat. That way I can use the same bowl in the future to get them to eat medicated food or treats if needed.

some people told me they give their baby chicks chick grit and scrambled eggs. Does anyone have any thoughts if this is good or bad?

I feed either a hard boiled or scrambled egg (1 for 12 chicks) daily, as recommended by a friend who has been breeding show chickens for years. They LOVE it!

I offer most treats by hand, calling to the chicks as I offer it to train them to come when I call them. Past few days, I've had to switch to giving them their egg in a bowl. They just get too crazy for the egg and accidentally nip my hand. It doesn't hurt much, but I don't want to encourage that behavior. Other treats, they take very gently. It's only the eggs that turn them into tiny T-Rexes.

Note: The first time you offer them something in a bowl, they may be afraid of it. Give them time to explore it and figure out it has yummies in it. Once a single chick gets up the courage to taste it, the rest will soon dive in.
