Thoughts on using a flat screen tv as part of coop

I have several larger flat screen panels, tinted plastic, and I was thinking of using one as either a skylight or a large wall window on a coop. Would an 40 odd inch window freak out the birds too much?

Don't they crack pretty easy? What if a hen flew into it and hit it, wouldn't a panel break? I think you would have to frame it with wood and protect the panel with hardware cloth.

We salvaged a washing machine window as a coop skylight, but the flat screen TV will be way too fragile to withstand the weather and impact.
