Hello, I am new to the BYC club and have had my three girls for a little over a year now. My older hen (M'Lady) went broody for the first time since I've had her (purchased as a three-year old) and we (my kids and I) decided to buy her some fertile eggs to see what we would get.

I purchased two olive eggs and two blue eggs so I could easily tell them apart from my others (brown). One olive and the two blue eggs hatched. Two of the chicks look very similar and may be easter eggers. See photos. The chick that hatched from the olive egg is half the size of the other two, and is a pale yellow with some gray spots near her eyes. I have named her Bob. They are only 10 days old as of these photos.

M'Lady is a very good mommy and is so proud and happy with her chicks. :)

Here is my question: Bob is getting curly wing tips. Can anyone give me any ideas based on the photos what I have here? She is very cute and I am overly curious.

Thanks for any info.

Lovin' my chickens,

Hi :welcome

What lovely chicks you have there!! Bob is certainly a frizzle. I have some frizzle of the polish variety. I'm not sure on breed but she could be a bantam breed with her being smaller than the other two chicks. Posting some more pics when they are older should get you some more answers on her breed. I'm sure more members will be along soon with other opinions on her breed.

M' Lady looks a very attentive mother hen.

Wishing you the very best of luck with them in the future and enjoy BYC :frow

Thank you for your post, I was thinking maybe Frizzle, probably Bantam, maybe Ameracauna and OMG what are we doing still up talking chicken?
Have a great day. Talk with you soon.

Chicken talk is very addicting as is BYC :gig

As I'm across the pond in the UK my day is just starting here so I'm not burning the midnight oil here!!

The chicks are four weeks old today! Bob is definitely a frizzle. The egg lady says none of hers are bantams, the green eggers just start out small. My two that hatched from the blue eggs are beginning to look very different. One has a small red comb white legs and no tail. The other does not show a comb yet, has a nice set of tail feathers and a black top knot on its head.

As I write they are exploring their ability to jump up onto the branches and having a great time.
I'll see if I can post a video here otherwise photos
