1. What is the earliest you would recommend switching to pellets from crumbles? My local feed store has a 21% protein feed but it only comes in pellets.
2. Any problem feeding layer crumbles or pellets to CX birds as long as I keep the protein up? I am thinking I will be dispatching at 8-9 weeks. Would the excess calcium cause a problem for that short time period (assuming it is the last 4-5 weeks or so).
3. My non-medicated feed options are limited at the store I like to buy from. I see they have a 32% catfish pellet available in aquatic feed. Do you think this feed is ok? I was thinking mixing this with the 21% layer pellets (1 part catfish pellets to 4 parts layer pellets). This would get me to roughly 24% protein. Here is the info from the catfish pellets:
Crude Protein (min.) .............................................................................. 32.00%
Crude Fat (min.) ........................................................................................3.00%
Crude Fiber (max.) .................................................................................. 7.00%
Phosphorus (min.) ................................................................................... 1.10%
