i can't see any roosters but maybe i am blind. They are about 12 weeks in these photos. I think they are beautiful birds. I bought them because everyone said they were super friendly and they have not disapointed. they are the first one at my feet when i feed and they let me pick them up without too much fuss.

my little crook bill. at about 3 weeks old this ones beak shifted and never went back. but she eats just fine. she is super friendly.

#2

#3 tougher to tell not as many feathers

bad pic but it is the only one i have of it standing.
it is the bird on the right.

IMO from watching cochins and wyandottes from chick to maturity

#1 looks to be a pullet
#2 roo the coloring pattern on the wings says roo to me with all the white there
#3 roo- slow feathering and quite a pronouced waddle starting as well as pink looking comb

thanks for the help!

If i have silver laced wyandotte hens and silver laced cochin rooster. will the chicks come out silver laced or does the crossing the two breeds muddle the gene pool?

Anybody know?

can you point me to some good Silver Laced Cochin pics showing the distinction between pullet and roo? We have some hatched out in April that we absolutely can't tell...

Here are some of the photos that I promised. The top one was taken about six weeks ago and the second one was taken this past weekend.

Here is the other one

Really hoping they are pullets...as much as I love them, we have too many roos!!

Thanks for all of the advice.

You can look at the threads on silver laced wyandottes, the color is the same and they're lots more common, so more threads lol. Basically, you're looking for larger white patches on the shoulders to start.

You can always start your own thread with pics of your birds. They're old enough we should be able to help you out.....plus SL cochins are such good eye candy!

edit--I just realized those are your birds above. If they were hatched in April, I'm seeing all pullets!
