Three Hens, Four Eggs Colours?!

My pullets are finally laying regularly; We sometimes get 3 a day between the 2 pullets and their broody. A mystery has begun in the coop; Three hens, four eggs colours! The large pale egg is from the broody, the other are new from the pullets. the dark small ones are layed with a lovely white lace on top that disappears fairly quickly with moisture and the speckled ones are darker and more speckled that the photo suggests. The speckled ones are also typically larger, but definitely new since the pullets have been laying. I know the extra colour isn't from my roo! I understood egg colour was genetic and fairly consistent, but I'm a rank newbie. Any idea what's going on here?

During the first month or two when a pullet begins to lay, especially with the very dark egg colors, there can be a wide variety of colors and "decoration".

I have a Silver Cuckoo Marans. She began laying at six months in the fall. She stopped laying until just recently when she has begun to lay again. Her first eggs were each so different, you would have sworn they were from different birds. They were a deep red with darker brown freckles and splotches. Her first eggs now that she's begun to lay again are a solid reddish color sans any freckles or splotches.

What breeds are these three pullets of yours?

Thanks Azygous! that makes a lot of sense! the speckled eggs are a little more rare so mabye they're a true representation of their future egg colour. I hope so!
Our pullets are a mix, I was told the eggs were from mottled java's, there were three roo's of different breeds, and with a little detective work I've determined their dad was the Malay. the other roo's were white austalorp and dominique, but the pullets have black feathers and pathetic little blobs for combs so they're a java/malay cross, I was surprised by how dark some of their eggs are. (our roo from the same farm clearly had the dominique dad, and our broody is at least half black austrolorp, so the mixing continues.) Thanks for your answer! mystery solved.
