All the chickens I have had, have been about the same age. But now I have a mixed flock. Hens are eight months and pullets are two to three months. I'm trying to figure out what to do about feed. Layer feed?, growing feed?, or a mixture. They all eat out of the same feeder. I have nineteen percent mix now and they seem ok. Thanks, Franko

Most layer is 16-17 %. A goof All Flock is 18%, Started Grower is 18-24%. The benefit of the layer is that it has the added calcium. That calcium is tuff on the younger ones.

Go with a 18% All Flock, or grower pellet in the same range, and make sure they have Oyster Shell on the side, free choice. Once the younger ones get older, you can switch back to a layer.
