My two week old Icelandics have only been with me for a week, but they are already isolating themselves from the rest of the chicks on top of the brooder. By what I have read about the breed their independence is showing early? They fly around like sparrows!!! I have a mixed flock and wonder if they will assimilate well.
They are definitely queens of the plastic tub.. OR king (s). I know its much too early to tell but I think the one on the far right may be a cockerel. Any guesses??? She (he) had the most tail feathering and wing feathering of the lot at 5 days old. That one's tail is more flat at present , while the other two make a little /\. I chose based on that. And the coloring is amazing....yellow with blue lavender. I so hope he/she will be a pullet. <3
