Three month turkey missing a leg

No raccoons in this area have only see one baby opossum,it was in my house eating my dogs food it is now in it’s own kennel in my bedoom it is very young have not seen any signs of a mother or sibling. I also have three large chicken friendly collies in the yard around the run. And the eight chicks in the run with the Turkey don’t seem to be afraid of anything.
You have an opossum in your room right now?

Do you have other young birds in the same coop you had this turkey in?
What ever tried to eat him last night is coming back to eat something else so be prepared.

Yes it is just a baby

It was in a 4x6 chainlink dog kennel covered completely with chicken wire top and bottom large Lowe’s 72 gal heavy plastic utility box with lid and a small door cut on the end and they DO sleep in the box they also have a roosting bar they get on during the day by getting on the box then on the roost. The run is also covered with a heavy tarp on top of the wire for sun and rain. I checked the run carefully there were no gaps in or under the run.

Chicken wire doesn't keep predators out. Possums and raccoons can stick their arms right through chicken wire and rip legs off.

Invest in 1/2" hardware cloth to cover all of the chain link and chicken wire ASAP.

I wii give the opossum a few weeks to grow a little before I take it to the local park and turn it loose.

Ok I will get hardware cloth to wrap around the run. The older chickens were in a larger run only a foot and a half away made from fencing wire 1x2 inch and they are all fine. it is 6 foot high 9x11 wrapped in 4 foot chicken wire.
