Hello everyone,
I have three lovely little 5-6 week old chicks that I am very curious to find out what breed and perhaps what gender they are.
First one (my fav)- Black Spot... she's very white except for random black spots through her coat that have appeared more as she's gained feathers. She started with just 1 little spot on her head. She also has blackish legs and her nose has turned dark.
Second one- Wonky Eye... she's had a wonky eye ever since we bought her home and it doesn't seem to be a bother, no discharge, lethargy or sickness. She was plane yellow as a chick but now has brown flecks appearing through her coat as well as an off white/brownish hue to them.
Third one- Birth Mark... she's missing some tail feathers. Initially she had a big brownish spot on her head and a big brownish stripe down her back (I almost named her skidmark). Like wonky eye she has brown flecks starting to appear but also a rosy hue around the lower back.
These chicks were from the Henny Penny hatching program. I have heavily researched the breeds used but am a little conflicted. Breeds used are Australorp, New Hampshire, Sussex, Black and White Leghorn and Lohmanns.
Although not listed I think Black Spot might be an Astra White which is an Australorp x white leghorn.
I had a freak out thinking Wonky eye and birthmark were lohmann brown cockrels (red sexlink) but when I researched Lohmanns further they have a Silver hen which also matches their descriptions. And also a Sandy hen which matches Black Spot. And so my hope for pullets lives on. I hope I have provided good shots of each (hopefully I uploaded all the ones I labelled, hard to tell on mobile).
