We got three new hen's on New Years Eve and the previous owners weren't sure of what breed they are. I think I have an idea, but I'm not entirely sure.

Here are some photos.

Clara - I think could possibly be a Black Sex Link?
Still laying even in winter, great in the cold. Can run quite fast! Terrible at getting on and off things.

Kentucky - Maybe a Golden Sex Link?
Has a large single comb. Almost looks like a Cockerel but she is laying eggs, even though it's winter. Can be aggressive to other hen's. Fine being alone.

Madam Talk Talk
Very large hen, I'm not sure what she is? She's the size of an Orpington but her features are different. She has long legs that the feathers don't cover a lot of like Orpingtons sometimes have. She doesn't like the rain but cold weather doesn't seem to bother her and she is still laying very large eggs into the winter.

Anyone have any idea's?

Top one is black sex-link, next one looks like a red/golden sex-link or something like that, and I'm not sure on the last one. Maybe a cross? I could be wrong though.

Yeah she's the one I'm having most trouble pinning.... not that this is related to your comment but just noticed I'd put Three KNEW hens instead of NEW?

I think the last one is a hatchery quality cuckoo Marans.

Your chickens look very similar to mine. Red Sex Link on the right I have one that is more red but can't find a picture of her.

Black Sex Link

Cuckoo Maran cross She was supposed to be a pure bred but she has some lacing in her feathers. She still lays the dark eggs.

Very similar, really sure the first too are sex links. But I'm not sure the Madam Talk Talk is full bred Speckled Maran? But this seems to be the closest to what she looks like.

What color eggs does that last hen lay? I agree she could be a hatchery Marans, but ya'all in the UK have some different hybrids we don't have here in the US.
