three piles of feathers, no other clues....ideas

After being fairly certain it was a fox, tonight I saw the culprit try to take another hen --right in front of me-- It was a great horned owl! Even though it was trying to tear my poor little BO apart, it was a pretty amazing creature...and HUGE! All told two of the original three missing birds hobbled back to the house and are healing well. A fourth bird was attacked tonight while all the birds were literally only a few feet away from me. Fortunately I scared the owl off when I chucked a bucket at it, and the hen will likely be alright (some gouges but far better off than the other birds were). Wowzer.
