Okay, they're 20 weeks old! The drake and my two ladies have been learning about the birds and the bees quite a bit the last few weeks, and they squawk all day long (when they're not eating and pooping). So where are my eggs????

The SO is sharpening his knife and talking about duck l'orange!

I think he's just joking though...although he is trying to put an ultimatum on them that they must lay by September or they get the axe!!! That should be plenty of time. Plus I would never, ever, let him do that.

I've got some nesting boxes with nesting pads and pine shavings, and I've put plastic eggs from Easter in each - even though I know they don't always lay where you want them to. They've got free choice oyster shell. Anything else you can think of that I might do to get these ladies started?

My girls just finally started laying this past week. They are 8 months and 9 months old, so some just take more time to start laying. Of course, where you live and what time of year it is will also affect it. It was still pretty cold here (winter weather) up until a few weeks ago, so I think that delayed their laying as well. I see you're in Texas though, so I'm guessing winter weather wouldn't delay your girls. ;) Still, some just take longer to start laying, so just be patient. The eggs will come!
