Hello from the Thumb of Michigan (Lapeer County)!
We've had chickens for about 8 years, and have probably surfed the fine forums here more than a few times looking for information and answers.
Right now we have 15 chickens (13 hens and two roosters), and am looking to expanding the flock this spring. We have a mix of breeds that are mixed-breeds, from Buff Brahma (our big rooster), Australorp, and a few others thrown in from friends who donated a bird here or there.
The chicken project started as something for our kids to get familiar with the outdoors as we're in an exurbs area, and now that the kids are flying the nest themselves, I'm gathering more of an interest, and also in helping other friends maybe get started. Looking forward to learning more!

I will see what I can do! They're out and about the yard, so they should stand out pretty well against the snow.Welcome to BYC! We'd love to see pictures of your flock.
