thunder storms

Are chickens afraid of thunder, we had a bad storm two nights ago and yesterday one seemed very stressed and had dropped a part formed egg on the floor, this morning another chicken laid a part formed egg. I this stress?

My chickens's egg production used to drop for a day or two after huge storms, especially thunderstorms. Premature egg laying, half-formed eggs, soft shelled eggs and other egg oddities are often caused by stress, so I think in this case the storm could be to blame, especially if it was the first one they experienced.
