We candled late last week. Seven of our eggs (out of the 23 we received) are fertile for sure--a few of the little critters were dancing around lively--and three "maybes." The others were getting nasty so we threw them out. I didn't open any of the bad ones, because if I threw out a good one I would rather not know.
So, I took them off the turner monday night, poured a little more water in the little trays on the bottom to increase the humidity a bit. Our incubator has a metal screen in the bottom, presumably to give the chicks something to walk on until we move them into the brooder. So we left that in place. Now we'll just wait another couple days and see what happens. Anything else we should do/look for?
The due date is our 4th anniversary. Hope we get a good omen.
