My bantam roo has a slight respiratory infection. He’s still eating and drinking, so nothing has taken a turn too badly yet. No eye swelling or leakage, just mucus mouth and cough/sneezes.

Tylan 50 is out of stock. I have amoxicillin and can purchase tiagard. Which would be better to treat with?

Amoxicillin does not treat MG which does not have a cell wall. Here is generic Tylan for the water, dosage is 1 tsp per gallon for 3-5 days:

It would treat MG, when drinking normally, but some respiratory diseases may be from viruses which do not respond to antibiotics. TiaGard or Denagard also treat MG.

I was highly recommended to give my sick hen tiagard which just came in the mail this morning, my bird doesn’t have runny eyes, and only exhibits sleepyness, she had diarrhea twice yesterday, and a solid poo this morning, if I put my ears close to her beak I can hear her breathing, it doesn’t look labored and doesn’t sound raspy from normal distance, would
This still be an appropriate use of tiagard?
