Hate to tell you this but we also live in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle area) my moms dog had a tick yesterday!

Although I have lived here forever and only had to deal with them 2 times.

Well there ain't no ticks on me There ain't no ticks on me There might be ticks on some of you chicks But there ain't no ticks on me

Seems like they are out like crazy this year, havent got any at the house, but found quite a few crawling(luckily not attached yet) when camping with scouts, also finding them on dogs when they wander too far into the woods,

the guineas do keep most out of the cleared area of property.

Great idea to use tape!

I found another crawling on me a few days ago; I just went down to my backyard to just walk around in peace and quiet under our trees that are blooming with really strong-smelling flowers, and there was one of those nasty wood ticks crawling up my leg! I freaked out and flicked him off(automatic reaction...lol first I thought it was a spider or something...

) and I tried looking for him so i could kill him but he got lost in the grass.

Nasty little buggers!

Our yellow lab, Dawson, had Lyme disease several months ago and after medication AND pain killers, he still limps on one leg at the end of the day because he loves to run around outside.

Poor boy. He's so sweet and loves attention, and I think that the limping is permanent now.

It's not really painful I don't think...more like discomfort and swelling, kinda like dog arthritis.

Ticks have been increasing here. We went to a river to release our baby eastern brook trout that we had raised from eggs in science class(400 eggs, 325 babies were left) and after having lunch at a picnic and hiking in the woods, a lot of kids had ticks on them when we got back to school!

Someone had 6 on them...luckily I didn't find any on myself.

Yes, I've had several on me this year already. It seems they are much more common this year, even in the mowed yard. I recently got 3 adult guinea that I plan to start releasing from the coop next week.

The ticks are awful this year. Lots of them on the dogs. Keeping my fingers crossed none on people yet. But OH! MY! GOODNESS! The moquitoes have come out with a vengance!!
