Tight Fit in Nest Boxes

This morning, I heard a lot of squawking coming from the coop & went to take a look. There were 1 of my RIRs in each of the 2 nest boxes & have & 3 or 4 were hanging around waiting there turn. These were the ones making all the noise. Like "Hurry up. It's my turn!!"

Well, after a few minutes they got tired of waiting & decides to crawl into the nest boxes with the others. One box had 2, and the other box had 3 hens all jammed in.

No matter how many boxes you put in, there is always a dog pile.

I think you might need to add another nest box.

LOL... I totally agree with Laree! I had 24 nest boxes for 25 birds, and they were still all piled in one box!
