My ducks have mastered getting into the pond but I have not seen them regularly get out of it. They are happy as can be swimming and floating. The outer edge of the pond is not as deep, so they can just stand if they do not want to "swim".

How much time do ducks usually spend in the water during the day?

Mine spend hours floating in their pool. They take lil duck naps on it too. I toss some food in it for them too sometimes when I notice that they've been in for a whole.

Do yours have easy access out? I put a brick or two in mine so they can jump out.

If I tempt them with mealworms, than they get out on their own. I haven't seen them exit the pond otherwise. I take them out every so often so they eat their food and whatnot, but they will get back into the pond shortly after! I am glad they like it so much, but they are fish!

Mallard derived do enjoy floating around but definitely, be sure they truly can get out, otherwise i'd let them be... my calls are water hogs for now they use my bathtub(there basically 7wks and still house ducks oye

) and are quite the devils to get out when bath time is done.
