I’m new to chickens and new to the site - but joined during a horrible chicken emergency (fly strike) and got amazing advice and support - already very grateful for this community!
We bought a new house a year ago and adopted the previous owners chickens - our first fresh eggs were amazing and we were hooked! We have subsequently built a new coop, added 7 more chicks all named after children’s book characters (looks like 6 pullets and a budding roo…), dealt with a few horrrible chicken health problems, and are planning on integrating our 2 older hens with our young flock in the coming months. My two (human) girls love the chickens almost as much as I do
. I’ll post some pics to introduce you to our mixed flock…
