My coop needs painted already (outside only) and I would like to know... what's everyone's favorite brand of paint for safely weatherproofing the outside of your coop? Do you like to use the same color every time or change it up?

Whats this paint thing you speak of?

My coop is tin and white. If you live in a hot area go light to reflect the summer heat. If in a cold area go dark to absorb the heat.

I live in an area that gets a lot of rain and it has worn the original coat of paint off my prefab coop in just a year and started to crack the wood. I want to protect it, but I don't want to paint with something that is going to harm the chickens' delicate respiratory tracts. White is definitely the way to go here too but algae is pretty prevalent on the buildings around here.

Got pics?
Probably better to spend time, effort, and money on a new coop.

Any exterior pain will be safe once it's fully dry/cured.
