Time to Say Good-Bye Lucy

I’m so sorry for your loss. She sounds like a very sweet girl. What breed?
Just think, now she is free ranging in chicken heaven with all the meal worms and pasta she can eat. I Really am so sorry for your loss. I lost 2 in one day and it is the worst feeling. Ever. :hugs:hugs

When the specialist told us Lucy had Cancer I figured we would get a few more weeks. Not a few days.

This morning, when I got up to check on her, she was pale, not just pale. She was white, her feet, her skin, her cone , paper white. Like over night she went form pink and alert to..weak and just white.

Into the vet we went, but unfortunately, she had to be euthanized. He believes (and he told us back then also) that she had some sort of internal bleed.

Sheesh this is never easy saying goodbye, she seriously was the best pet chicken EVER, we would yell LUCYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and no matter where she was at, she would come a running. She had just as much interest in our granddaughter as our granddaughter did in her. Lucy would run around the yard with me for hours on end and when we both tired out, she would curl up and sit in my lap.

I am crying and I am going to miss her
So very sorry....we love them just like others love dogs. They are truly a gift from God and now she's safe from predators.
