Time to start a new bunch of layers.

Is this a good time to start, or should I wait for spring?
We should have good weather until the middle of Oct.
Any help would be wonderful.

I've asked myself the same question, but have decided to wait until spring.
I'm in Arkansas and although our winters are usually mild, at least thru November, I've seen some several signs that make me think it's going to be a hard winter.
I like the no-fuss chick raising in spring better.
