Time to Start Planning Your Coop's Christmas Lights!

My husband just sent me an email that they are predicting snow for Monday night. That tells me that I am right on schedule! :o

I like you guys. Nice people with a bit of silly mixed in. I just might have to decorate my coop now too...or maybe the fence around it.

well i took the halloween decorations off the coop- it now looks bare so i already got the totes out that have all my christmas things - i plan on making the coop look like a gingerbread house, after i told DH he just rolled his eyes and walked away - i think he has finally given up with my love to decorate for christmas.
this is going to be our first year with our flock so of course we are going to have CHICKmas !!!!
i will get lots of pictures when the coop is done.
cant wait to see what everyone else is doing LOL

You don't have children do you, wegotchickens? Or do you? Either way your chickens are your children. As are my ducks mine!

Plus the 7 chickens.

Yes, they are all my kids (or my pets?). I practiced parenting on fur children before trying the 'real' thing. My kids think I'm nuts and don't share my enthusiasm for all things chicken these days. Or my enthusiastic holiday decor. Jaded teenagers!

My darling husband thinks I'm a 42 year old child and tries to humor me... But he's my enabler because he secretly enjoys all this, too!

We don't have children, but as a child, I always gave my pets presents and they had their own species specific feasts. I just never stopped doing it. If I had children, we'd just be planning PETmas together! My family also has a long tradition of inviting people to our homes for holiday dinners. People living out of state, living abroad or that just don't have family have been invited. We must just ooze way too much holiday spirit!

But doesn't it feel good to ooze too much holiday spirit? The world could use more people who kept the spirit of Christmas in the hearts all year long...

And the great thing is, there's a holiday almost every month of the year!

I should have bought that geese family that lights up. I still have a plastic sheep that lights up, that I bought when we had sheep, so I guess it seems normal to me, to buy poultry decorations.

Too bad they never include chickens in those outdoor nativity scenes!

I wonder if my husband needs anything else from Home Depot?
