Time with the flock

On a few of our nice days I had time to sit out with the birds. I’m seeing more pairing and mating but still waiting on eggs..... I swear they know I’m getting impatient

I was so excited to get some pictures of one guinea grooming the other. I wanted to get video, but by the time I got my phone out something spooked the flock.

When I was sitting watching the pearls my turkey, Jenny was on my lap for some snuggles.

In the distance was Boop, one of the males.

And all the while I’m having to work around this guy strutting his stuff in front of the camera

They're so happy the weather has changed. Mine kept running through the spray of the hose while I was cleaning yesterday until they were satisfied they were damp enough to go sit in the sun and preen.

We had lots of rain yesterday. My guineas decided not to take cover and sat out in the rain when it was pouring! Guess they wanted a bath to get all the winter dust off
It reminded me of yours running under the hose. Haha.
They are kinda hard to see, but some are under the pine tree and feeders. The others are behind the electric pole by the septic tanks.

Before the rain I was working on cleaning up my garden. The guineas and turkeys all wanted to see what I was up to.

We had a ton of these icky little black flies. They didn’t bite, but were still irritating.

While taking pictures I saw this guy has a heart shaped white spot

Did you remind the guineas that they're supposed to eat those flies?! Heartworm pup has taken issue either w/Bella, or me holding Bella. The 1st time, he broke free of his leash,the 2nd time, he went through the screen door. Fortunately that time I was in the kennel w/the door shut. The 1st time I was transporting to it, he was jumping and snapping, she was struggling to get free from me. I thought for sure I was going to end up w/a dead hen. But once in the kennel she marched away indignantly and that was the end of it. Patio door remaining closed now.
3 dogs and it's the puny 17 lb runt who isn't supposed to get excited that thinks he can take on one of my birds. We'll be doing some brain work over the next few months of his confinement!

They were picking some off each other’s feathers, but not hunting them down. Lazy. Haha

Oh boy! Little dogs can have some big personalities.
My moms little 4lbs mix thinks she can chase down my birds. Silly thing.
