go on trips outside. I have 10 chicks all 4 -4 1/2 weeks old. I took them out the other day and Marshmallow, our splash JG, just wanted to sit there and didn't scurry and hunt around like the rest. He seems to be feathered out just as much as the others....but would only sit there trembly or fall asleep. I thought maybe it was just like that for the first trip out today. But we went out again today and same thing, he's fine if I hold him in my lap where he can snuggle in my shirt. Do you think he's just not liking the big outdoors yet? Still too cool for JUST him?? It just seems a little odd that all of the rest are great and enjoying their discoveries.

I will say that in the brooder, he is one of the hardes to catch and is definitely more skittish than the rest of them, and especially compared to the other JG chicks. Just wondering if any one else has experienced something like this. Thanks!!

I have three Jersey Giants and they can be the biggest babies.

They are extremely docile so do keep a special eye on them as the others will figure it all out and be mean to them.

Brunhilda the largest of all of our chickens has stood up to a dog and walked away less some feathers but will run from just about anything else, including any of the other chickens. Ebony is just a bit smaller and will run from every other chicken except Brunhilda, my third one Braackette is the smallest and runs from every chicken except the two other Giants and Goldie the smallest of my Golden Comets. Goldie and Braackette are best buddies and spend most of their time together.
