tiny egg

Yesterday morning I went to check for eggs and found the cutest little egg. It is strange because it is about one third the size of the regular egg. I am not sure if this has to do with a lack of water or what maybe from the day before. Last night though there were two regular sized eggs so it hopefully has been corrected. What caused this so I know in the future?

Called a fart egg or a wind egg. They happen from time to time and are nothing to worry about. Not sure there's anything you can or need to do to prevent them.

I forgot to mention that fart eggs usually don't contain a yolk. I blew mine out and kept it.

My hens laid two of these last year. One was clear and one had a tiny yolk. It would've been fun to have sent one though an incubator to see how it turned out.
