TINY Mystery Egg!

This is it so far. I have it setting on a dime for size reference, although it would probably be closer to quarter size. Next time I will need to use my macro lens. The thing is, I have nothing that comes close to a Serama sized chicken! I have a two large Silkie hens but even Silkie eggs are far bigger. The next size smaller would be my Tuzos which weigh in at about 4-5 lbs and they lay a large egg.

Im excited to see what it is. Maybe a dormant gene in one of your chickens popped up and produced that small of an egg?

Ok I have never hatched anything so I honestly dont know. How long does it take for a chick to pop out of the egg? Im pretty curious about whats in there and apparently a little impatient as well lol. Any updates?

Chicks usually start pipping around the 19th-20th day but this is the 17th day. Not unusual for tiny bantams. The shell is super thick so I may have to help it along, but not yet. It may not happen until tomorrow. The peeping is definitely chick sounding.
