"Fart " eggs have no yolk, therefore can't hatch.

Hens lay smaller than normal eggs often-- usually when they're beginning or ending their laying cycle. Not an everyday occurance, but not totally unusual

Since I have no small breed layers, I have had a fart egg that had a yolk. Tiny, but it was a yolk. Now that little thing give whole new meaning to "bantum". SO CUTE!!!

Congratualtions!!! It is definately a Silkie chick. I have been hatching Silkie eggs for a couple years now. A few have been tiny, but not that tiny! Pippin is very cute!!!

Can't wait for more pictures! Especially in your hand!

YAY! I came back to see what happened, and I see a little chick! Hooray! Hes a sweetie

. they say what dont kill ya makes ya stronger. If he made it this far, maybe it'll turn out to be a great bird as a grown up chicken. Hows the little one doing? Eating? Drinking? can he walk?

Oh, and I too request a pic with a size reference as well. I cant conjure an image of a chick the size of a quarter.

Thanks, I was winging it, I didnt have time to research or it would have died. It was a true live or die situation. So glas she made it out alright!

PS The little silkie is ADORABLE....but I vote happy feet...lol not a big LOTR fan myself...

If I called all the small Eggs I get fart eggs that would be all I had.... I believe the term FART EGG refers to the fact that the chicken made an egg with no yolk in it. But whatever floats your boat.

He appears to be the size of a golf ball. WOW!

I think Pippin is adorable - now that he has room to stretch out, he will grow into his feet and head, etc. I vote silky also.
