I have a rooster with a leg problem, we flooded here 2 weeks ago and after the flood he couldn't walk right. I don't think was anything to do with the water. He could stand on the one leg, and the other looks useless, but he seems to be able to feel it. his toes are curled up slightly, he can lift it up but can't move it backwards or forward, kinda just scoots it in front of him when he walks! I read about tendon issues, but I guess now its too late to fix? He is eating and drinking like a HOG. and tonight when I brought him in for food he pooed and there are TINY worms in his poo, they look like threads and are white, i read and they sound to me like capillary worms? from eating earthworms? My question is what would be the best wormer and what are the dosages?
Here is what they have at my tractor supply....

Get Ivomec for cattle- Drops.. 6 drops for large fowl - 3 drops for bantams

At the birds neck- where it joins the body, pull the feathers back to where you can see skin

be sure you get the skin and not the feathers, it will kill most internal and external parisites.

I heard not to eat the eggs for 10 days after

You're better off using the safeguard liquid goat wormer on your rooster or valbazen. If he's a large rooster, dose him orally 3/4cc, standard size is 1/2cc orally with the goat wormer. Repeat dosing him again in 10 days. Valbazen is given orally as well, dosage is 1/2cc for standards, 1/4cc for smaller chickens. Redose in 10 days.

I recommend sevin dust for lice/mites. You'll have to dust the inside of their house, nests and roosts. Redust again in 10 days including your rooster. The safeguard will not kill lice/mites. $4.97 at Lowe's.
