Most importantly you need a very good pen!! Make sure there are absolutely no holes or gaps in the wiring!! If they get out they will be gone forever! They would eat game bird food. You would probably also need a permit to own them.

We raised these when I was a kid if you mean ring necked doves . They will set on eggs too , if you have a pair , we had straw nests for ours hanging on the side of their wire enclosure for them to lay and set in. Lovely birds .

Make sure your pen is covered in either wire or wood. It's best for you to have your pen at least 6' high so you can walk thru without hitting your head. They should also have a place to get out of the elements. They like to perch to so 2 or 3 perches at different levels, but not to close to the top of the pen as a coon can reach down and grab them.A tree branch is good so they can hide behind it.Their breeding season starts in jan and feb so be sure you have them set up with nesting boxes,on the ground and off the ground, they will choose which one they like. They need to be wormed at least 2 times a year. You also need to put wire on the outside all around the bottom of your cage so varmits can't dig under.
