I thought I would put this thread up for people on day 18, that want to know what to look for when candling, on day 18 (this will be your last candle before lockdown!)

As
we all know, when we candle, put a pencil mark on the air cell from the round part of the egg, and place the egg so that lowest tilt of the slant is up I put a x on that area, because it is the side the chick will hopefully hatch on. But you are not done yet.... now candle the pointy part. It should be dark (day 16 is when you should not see through the pointy end) If light shines through the bottom on day 16, it most likely means your temps were not high enough, but your egg may have to incubate longer than 21 days, (delayed hatch.) But don't give up!

I know this has nothing to do with your post. But what breed of bird is your avatar. My wife loves it. Beautiful

She is a lavender frizzle, and she lays gray eggs, she only has one daughter who also lays gray eggs. I am trying to hatch out more of her eggs, I don't know if I will be able to, people have asked to buy her and her eggs, I just don't have the supply. I had a name for the breed though, I named it Greyslyn. I had sent 2 gals in ID eggs, one lady hatched the eggs, but I didn't hear any more than that, and a diff lady hatched 2 eggs, and they were both roosters.
