HA! I just laughed out loud and my Dad looked at me like I was crazy.
Anyway, thanks for all the great suggestions. I'm not too concerned about the chickens actually eating the grass that grows, so I'm thinking that a sort of movable-chickenwire-box that I can rotate around the run, so the grass can grow with minimal effort on my part!
