Tips of combs are black

Chickens are fine with dry, cold air but any moisture in the air greatly increases their chances of frost bite. I find my hens are fine on very cold nights when I leave their windows open but as soon as I close up the coop to prevent drafts the moisture will build up and they get frost bite. I suggest you offer more ventilation to prevent it from happening again.
In my experience vaseline has no effect on preventing frostbite. If you are worried about the frost bitten cobs you can apply a topical antibiotic such as neosporin or blue coat to the tips. Usually if its minor like that I just leave it alone and soon the black tips just fall off on their own. With extreme cases of frost bite you may have to remove the comb in order to prevent it from being infected. One of my hens once had severe frost bite in addition to a wound on her comb so i needed to remove the dead tissue which was the majority of the comb.
Basically i suggest just offer some more ventilation to prevent the moisture from building up and they should be perfectly fine.
